Gaytten

Cheltenham-born Bill Gaytten, 51, has been named the new creative director of John Galliano. He took a bow after showing the label's menswear collection for spring/summer 2012 in Paris on Friday, which was inspired by the 1960s pop scene in London.
"I'm dying to know what he thinks!" he said of Galliano after the show. He also told WWD: "It's the same job for me; I've been doing it for a long time. It was a bit different because John wasn't there."
Gaytten trained as an architect at the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London before moving into fashion with a job at Victor Edelstein. He had been working alongside Galliano for 23 years, and had been leading the design team since the designer's departure.  We'll see if Galliano ever is given this creative director tittle back as his own named is 91% owned by Christian Dior SA.
Last Wednesday Galliano stood trial in Paris to address allegations that he called 35-year-old Arab World Institute art curator GĂ©raldine Bloch a "dirty whore" with a "dirty Jewish face". Galliano claimed to have "no recollection" of the events and denied the charges against him. He could face a six-month prison term and a £21,000 fine. A verdict will be given on September 8.
