Some of the latest fashion accessories that are popping up all over the runway are super fun and I want them all.. well.. I can't use them all but I still want them, one of my favorites are visors, these guys have resurfaced at both Balenciaga and Givenchy for Resort 2012, they are super chic.
Hair jewelry is also making a comeback, one of the original Rock Stars who made this one of her iconic looks was Ms. Courtney Love. Now some of the top designers are making some updated rad versions to bring to the masses of 2011. Here's some cool ones I found. Leafy jewel-encrusted crowns stole the show at Valentino couture earlier this month, a concept that was also masterfully excecuted by Maison Michel for Spring ’11 (with a helping hand from Lou Doillon and Bambi Northwood-Blyth).
Lets get our paws up for Mr. Michael Kors’ versatile Fall ’11 hair jewerly, worn here as a ponytail cuff by Codie Young. Amazing!!! I so love these... I wish I could get one for every single one of my friends w/ long hair.
Artist Columbine Pheonix has already got another cool idea going, making some rad pieces out of bone and jewel. Here's a hot example.

Pink
M·A·C Cosmetics named the new faces of their next Viva Glam campaign, Mr. Latino newly out of the closet Ricky Martin and Miss Pink Friday herself, Nicki Minaj. An awesome selection since Minaj has previously collaborated with the makeup company for the release of a fundraising lipstick named after her debut album, ’Pink 4 Friday’. With Mr. Martin.. I am not sure but maybe a lot of his fans will be going crazy to buy some make up!

oh Daphne
Fashion icon goddess is Daphne Guinness, was recently “laid in state” by Gareth Pugh to showcase her most recent collaboration with jeweler, Shaun Leane. Miss Guiness who loves to put on a show always, loves her theatrical installations. I think she has outdone herself this time! In typical Guinness fashion she was laid out in a see thru Alexander McQueen bodysuit with an antique veil. The only exposed body part was her arm in a one-of-a-kind chain mail glove made of gold and diamonds. This piece is for sale for 1.7 million bucks! It's made of 18 carat white gold. To create the glove, the two used 5,000 pave white diamonds to make a flock of birds and branches. This “labor of love” as they refer to it, is their rendition of a 21st century decorative armor and is only the beginning. Guest to the unique experience event included Tom Ford, Gareth Pugh, Tom Bowles, Sara Buys, Lily Cole, Sarah Burton, Sabrina Guinness, Paul Simonon and Vicky Sarge.
Contra Mundum - is Latin for “Against the World:" it took over five years for this to beauty to be created. , the pavĂ© white diamonds, set in the shape of a bird formation, and weighing over a thousand grams in 18ct white gold are stunning. Made in two parts, the cuff can be worn alone as a hand glove, or extended into an evening glove. Every detail in the piece, including the chainmail, has been carefully constructed by hand to ensure a perfect fit to Ms. Guiness's arm. The glove was molded from Daphnes' own hand, and is a stylized armour made of precious metals, studded with gems.

For them it has become less a fashion item, more a work of art, something that pushes the boundaries of fine jewellery and symbolises their friendships with each other, and with Blow and McQueen, who was to design a spectacular dress to go with the glove. Contra Mundum: " It’s about wanting to watch, but not wanting to be seen. I feel it’s a pact, if that makes any sense. And I’m not sure I could wear it to go out now, because it means too much.’

Delicate chainmail forms the foundation of this highly fantastical gauntlet; each ring looped in one by one to create an exact formation tailored to the individual. Striking diamond birds cascade around the arm, as though caught in mid-flight. Skilfully supporting the framework is a shimmering diamond branch that elegantly wraps around the upper arm. The hand is protected with a bold metal cuff, hand-forged and beautifully engraved. Birds are layered on the surface of the cuff amongst the sculpted branches. Carved in gold and set with diamonds, they soar among the delicate engraving as though liberated by the blowing wind.

Murder
One of my fav designs right now is coming to us from an amazing label Super Fertile. From jewelry designer Kali Arulpragasam, she's MIA's sister. The new amazing line is called "Murder", the entire collection is long gold chain necklaces, scattered with would shaped jewels. The line has chokers that look as if your cut had been slashed. Cocktail rings and earrings that make you look as if you were just blown with a machine gun. With each piece crafted intricately in fine gold settings and high quality rubies, sapphires and garnets, what we’re left with are luxurious, permanent pieces of wearable dark art.
Arulpragasam says, “Violence and beauty have been thoughtfully crafted in incredible detail … to portray the inhumanity in the world.”

Glow Wall
Ok so the future is totally here. Phillips has announced that it will partner with Kvadraf Soft Cells to create something that's out of this world, a type of textile that's very much alive. Well not really alive but basically a color changing panel. Integrating addressable LED's into the soft cells of acoustic panels, designed to work with sound waves in order to create this fabric that can glow and create ambient lighting as well as adding textural and design elements.
This style of lighting will create a kind of a glowing wallpaper panels for rooms that can be used in ways that traditional wall and ceiling mounted lighting cannot be. The lights could potentially have the ability to change colors based on the owner’s desires. The textile will also have a secondary effect, the dampening of noise, since the panels are designed to dampen noise and softens echoes.
The wall panels can take a bunch of forms, they have aluminum frames that allow them to fit into any shapes.
Currently, there is no word on when Phillips will be releasing the panels on the market, or how much each one will cost. Currently, the company is targeting businesses and hotel chains with this lighting, so the odds are that, at least at first; this glow in the dark wall covering will not be an inexpensive lighting option for home use.
