Sims McQueen

David Sims is the brilliant mind behind the new Alexander McQueen campaign for fall 2011.   Raquel Zimmerman is the beauty who is heading the campaign.  You may recall her from the snake colorful ads from the past.   It's just magical.  Check it.

DIRTY COCO

I am super excited about this book coming up, its really a biography titled "Coco Chanel: An Intimate Life" promises insights into Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel's alleged bisexuality, multiple affairs and love affair with a Nazi spy. In the book, due for release in November, author Lisa Chaney claims to have evidence that proves the designer used drugs, experimented with her sexuality and had affairs with married men, including Señor Salvador Dalí.  Chaney uses reportedly discovered letters and documents from the Swiss Federal Archives to quell any doubt as to the truth of some of the less-palatable aspects of Chanel's colourful lifestyle.
Most of Chanel's infamous life has not been kept secret, including a series of affairs with a number of high-profile men including Nazi spy Hans Günther von Dincklage and Igor Stravinsky. Sounds juicy doesn't it?

Terry Gaga

Grand Central Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, announced today that it will publish LADY GAGA, a book of never-before-seen photographs of Lady Gaga taken by renowned photographer Terry Richardson. Lady Gaga will write the foreword to the book, which is scheduled to be published on November 22, 2011.
Jamie Raab, Executive Vice President and Publisher of Grand Central Publishing, said, “We are proud to be publishing this remarkable collaboration between Lady Gaga and Terry Richardson and anticipate that it will be one of the most stunning, provocative and coveted books of the 2011 holiday season.” Raab acquired world rights to the book from William Morris Endeavor Entertainment in association with Atom Factory. Taschen Books will publish a very limited edition of the book to be released the following year.
A visual dialogue between Lady Gaga and Terry Richardson, the book will showcase over 350 color and black and white photographs taken during the 10 month period in which Richardson followed Lady Gaga and had complete access to her everyday life, with nothing being off limits. Beginning with Lollapalooza in August 2010 to the February 2011 Grammy Awards which had 26.66 million viewers, (the highest viewership in over a decade) to the final shows of her Monster Ball tour which averaged an attendance of 90,000 people each day, Richardson brilliantly captures the intimate, random, behind-the-scenes moments of Lady Gaga in both her professional and personal life. During the almost year-long global odyssey, Richardson took over 100,000 images and followed the recording process of BORN THIS WAY. The resulting book, featuring some of the most revelatory and exciting of these photographs, captures Lady Gaga as never before seen.

Versatile Plus

This is seriously one of the most amazing inventions ever.  Young Israeli designer  Daniela Bekerman has created shoes called Ze o Ze, stands for "this or this" in Hebrew.  These shoes are so versatile that they actually change shapes and styles. The wearer can change the design of the shoes through changing the heel, which is a modular piece that connects to the shoe’s sole giving us an immense amount of options! Check it out.

Magnetic

Have you ever heard of  magnetic nail polish?   The UK nail brand Nails Inc. is coming up with a new polish called Magnetic Attraction. The three metallic shades which contain iron powder and come with a magnet embedded in the cap. You apply a coat of the polish to each individual nail, then hold the magnet over your nail to get a rippled effect. These polishes will be available in October. Nails Inc. has been expanding its market in the US, so hopefully we’ll see it here soon.

LCN, a professional line, actually has magnetic polishes available now  They come in eight shades, and then you need to purchase the magnets separately. These magnets allow you to make shapes on the nail, unlike Nails Inc.’s version which makes an abstract ripple–right now they offer a diagonal line and star version. As a trend, it looks more subtle than crackle and is easier to achieve than other methods.
