Gaytten

Cheltenham-born Bill Gaytten, 51, has been named the new creative director of John Galliano. He took a bow after showing the label's menswear collection for spring/summer 2012 in Paris on Friday, which was inspired by the 1960s pop scene in London.
"I'm dying to know what he thinks!" he said of Galliano after the show. He also told WWD: "It's the same job for me; I've been doing it for a long time. It was a bit different because John wasn't there."
Gaytten trained as an architect at the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London before moving into fashion with a job at Victor Edelstein. He had been working alongside Galliano for 23 years, and had been leading the design team since the designer's departure.  We'll see if Galliano ever is given this creative director tittle back as his own named is 91% owned by Christian Dior SA.
Last Wednesday Galliano stood trial in Paris to address allegations that he called 35-year-old Arab World Institute art curator GĂ©raldine Bloch a "dirty whore" with a "dirty Jewish face". Galliano claimed to have "no recollection" of the events and denied the charges against him. He could face a six-month prison term and a £21,000 fine. A verdict will be given on September 8.

Dreams

The exclusive Asia’s First Madonna Exhibition ‘Simply Madonna at City of Dreams 2011’ was launched at City of Dreams this evening in a ceremony filled with the glamour
The must-see exhibition, which runs from Thursday June 23, 2011 to Sunday July 24, 2011 throughout the City of Dreams premises, will feature over 50 selected exhibits from the superstar’s avant-garde and iconic show accessories and costumes, including her sexy bustiers designed by fashion’s enfant terrible Jean-Paul Gaultier.
Also on display are many of the outfits Madonna wore in the multiple award-winning Mr. Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Evita, as well as personal memorabilia such as song sheets and documents.

“Madonna’s versatility as an artist and City of Dreams’ vision of being the most diversified entertainment hub in Asia makes for a perfect match. We are thrilled to be hosting the first Asia exhibition of her memorabilia in the region and I am sure guests will find this yet another rewarding experience while visiting our integrated resort,” said Mr. Nicholas Naples, Co-Chief Operating Officer, Operations of Melco Crown Entertainment Limited.

Over 200 notable guests and media attended the glitzy launch party that was officiated by Hong Kong’s own pop icon, Ms. Sandy LAM Yik-lin, who like Madonna, is well-known for her own unique style and taste.

“Madonna is definitely a very multi-talented artist and knows how to fully utilize her assets as a performer and entertainer. I’ve always admired how enigmatic, innovative, and smart she is. It’s very exciting for me to be here tonight to see first-hand all those iconic clothes and memorabilia of such a remarkably unique artist,” said Ms. Lam.
In honor of the pop diva’s ‘appearance’ at City of Dreams, a series of special Madonna promotions have been launched.

Adam

"Adam"
My latest painting is finally done.   I thought this was going to be the last piece I complete in Portland, but it look like that won't be true as I started another very special painting yesterday.   This giant piece was a really big project for me.  This is the biggest canvas I  have ever worked on.  I feel like this piece has a lot to offer and if you look at it up close you will have 20 faces, but if you look at it from far away you will have one face, Adam's... Abel's Dad.

Patti

Patti Smith made her television debut on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Though the queen of punk has done a little acting before — lending her vocal talents to 1998′s The Rugrats Movie as the newborn baby – her stint on Law and Order: CI marks the first time Smith has stepped before a camera for the silver screen. In the episode, Smith plays Cleo Alexander, a Columbia University Professor of Mythology. Anyone who has read Smith’s autobiographical novel, Just Kids, will notice the parallel between her early years as an emerging punk artist and this, her first television role. It seems that Smith has always held a fascination for the occult.  Smith’s character helps with the investigation of a murder which takes place during a Broadway musical. The musical is based on the story of Icarus, hence why the Professor’s expertise is required. Explaining the meaning of the Minotaur and the maze, much to the enlightenment of that know it all detective.  At five foot eight, though, Smith’s presence is as intensely felt as ever. Loosely based on the real life circus that is Broadway’s Spider Man: Turn off the Dark, the episode is an intriguing one, mostly due to Smith’s part in it. I just love to see Ms. Patti Smith at all times. She's one of my all time heroines.

Helena

Marc Jacobs has picked well Miss Bonham-Carter has been chosen to front the campaign for his Fall 2011 collection, he often chooses from a  slightly different perspective and this campaign isn't the exception. Juergen Teller’s lo-fi photography and the wacky poses and faces make it very Mr. Jacobs and I think is fashion YES.  The british actress,  is sporting a pink sequinned, scallloped dress and a small pillbox hat from the collection.  Her legs, look wild with a pair polka dot tights and the giant similar patterns throughout. I think she's really brave and I love that she always goes against the norm.

Wig Out

Charlie Le Mindu from On|Off TV on Vimeo.
Le Mindu is totally a genius. Straight out of London he's working with a lot of great minds like, Peaches, Gaga, Pam Hogg, Florence Welch etc... he's both a hairstylist and a most recently a fashion designer. He's the one responsible for a lot of the amazing Wigs in every fantastic WIG MOMENT.. he's of course the man who makes all of Gaga's hair dresses. He says "you can curl them or crimp them but you must clean them and of course give them a weekly brushing and dry shampoo". His wigs are so larger than life that they use twice or more as much hair as a regular wig, they can also last a life time. He began working w/wigs when he was 13 in France and he went on to Berlin then London and then his creations are being featured all over windows of Colette in Paris and London's Selfridges. He's amazing and I am excited to see all his upcoming work. Keep an eye out for LE MINDU.

all these lucky and hard working people are amazing... specially Rory Longdon, from Nottingham Trent University, who won the coveted 7th annual Graduate Fashion Week Award Gold Award, worth $40,000 with a slinky, body-bot collection in  black with silver accents.  He's a very right on the target type of guy.  I like all his designs and I look forward to his work.  Another winner, Emma Hill was who presented Molly Ratcliff from Northumbria University won the $10,000 Mulberry prize for accessories.  Womenswear prize's winner was  Marissa Owen of the University of Central Lancashire,  the best menswear went to Felix Chabluk Smithe of the Edinburgh College of Art. The Zandra Rhodes Catwalk Textiles Award was won by Dominique Kral from Northbrook College, the Stuart Peters Visionary Knitwear Award winner was Wonjee Chung, from Nottingham Trent University; and the International Award was given to Christina Economou, of the Marangoni Istituto, Paris. boobs

"Human Barbie" Sarah Burge gave her daughter Poppy a $10,000 voucher for breast augmentation surgery for her seventh birthday. Sarah explained, "Poppy begged me for a boob job, so I gave her the voucher so she can have it after she's 16, when it's legal. If she develops naturally big boobs, she can have something else done with it." Sounds like a reasonable, open-ended gift. Poppy, for her part, said, "I can't wait to be like Mummy with big boobs. They're pretty." Poppy also received a computer, pink Swarovski crystal ring and matching necklace and a spa weekend from her mother.  The 50-year-old has supposedly dropped more than $800,000 on her own plastic surgeries and plans to have her daughter watch her next series of treatments, slated for later this year. Burge remarked, "I want Poppy to see what will happen. Some people think it's controversial and I get angry when strangers say I'm a bad mother because I don't think there's any harm in giving her this gift." She added, "Poppy is a normal kid who is good at sports and loves playing outside. Girls don't want Snow White and Cinderella any more....I'm just supporting her and making her dreams come true." And, really, isn't that all a mother can do?

Spots

I am so pushing this on all my friends.... You will be so hot if you use this bronzer to lay around the pool party. You will love the sizzling multi-tone powder. You can roar with this little helper.

Animalism

I am super excited about these Animals!  These are sculptures constructed solely from Louis Vouitton handbags. Billie Achilleos has really created some amazing eye candy straight out of London.  Billie was commissioned to give its signature monogram print a 2011 update.  This amazing collaboration celebrates the launch of Louis Vuitton's Mon Monogram service, which is totally amazing, you can make your own LV bag!  You can pick your own painted stripes and initial stamping!  These amazing pieces that Billie Achilleos has created  are completely out of this world with working zippers and chains. These amazing creature creation really is beyond anyone's imagination.  I specially love the chameleon because it reminds me of Trudy, our veiled chameleon.

Toniwood

There are a some things that get to me. When people don't believe in anything spiritual and when people say that they are not suitable for posing for a photo.  I feel like everyone is beautiful and I like to show people that they are beautiful just as god made them.   Here's one of my shoots with a truly beautiful individual in the inside and outside.... and she thought she couldn't take good photos!

Cahun

Before Lady Gaga, Madonna, David Bowie & Annie Lenox, there was  French artist who knew how to push the limits before anyone else did,  her name was Claude Cahun, who in the 1920's was already exploring ideas about gender role playing as well as being able to shift masculine vs feminine  thru her photographs.   Paris' Jue de Paume museum is  featuring a retrospective dedicated to the one and only from May 24 - Sept 25.  Her androgynous self portraits are elegant and a lot of people have compared her to an Isabella Blow, who actually looked a lot like her.  Cahun was known for her over the top dramatic entrances in outrageous one of a kind costumes.  Her look was amazing she often opted to shave off her head and eyebrows, which was very unheard of back then, she was also seen often sporting  a dyed pink head as well as gold, and  even green. She was proud of her sexuality and was able to blend the lines between art and life.
